DIY’s Rehab Addict host tackles a house in Detroit

Excuse Nicole Curtis if she’s feeling a bit frenzied these days. The HGTV and DIY “Rehab Addict” star, a Lake Orion native, is rehabbing three old homes at the same time this summer, including a 1929 home in Detroit.

“We’re still wrapping up two houses there (in Minneapolis) — and this one (in Detroit) — all at the same time,” said Curtis, 36.

Sleep-deprived as she is, Curtis, who now lives in Minneapolis, is thrilled to be back in Detroit, rehabbing a house on North Campbell Street, west of Corktown. The project, a 2,000-square-foot duplex damaged by fire last year and in danger of being demolished, is her first Detroit remodeling project to be featured on “Rehab Addict.” Episodes will air this fall.
